In the Style published two Instagram stories and an image on its website which featured clothing collections by Natasha Sandhu and Jess Millichamp, along with information pertaining to a “50% off” discount.

Two consumers noticed that the clothing lines in question had not previously been offered for sale nor did the prices appear to increase after a period of time, and subsequently complained to the ASA on the basis that the “discount” offered was misleading.

The ASA agreed that the promotions advertised did not appear to be genuine discounts but rather were introductory offers. This had not been made clear so the ASA upheld the complaints on this basis.
