Two online advertisements for jeans and clothing retailer Diesel were found to be irresponsible and in breach of the CAP Code because they featured overtly sexual content in a context where it could be easily seen by children. The advertisements appeared on the websites of The Independent newspaper and Sky News, and contained images and video clips depicting intimate moments between couples. The ASA considered that, although such sites were not directed at children, Diesel ought to have taken further steps or used online tools in order to ensure that the advertisements were targeted exclusively to adult audiences.
