The ASA launched an investigation in respect of various product listings appearing on justyouroutfit.com after it received a complaint from The Humane Society International regarding a beanie hat incorrectly advertised by Just Your Outfit as a “faux fur” item despite containing marmot and dog racoon fur. The ASA asked the online fashion retailer to produce evidence to demonstrate that three other, randomly selected “faux fur” items on its website did not contain real fur. Just Your Outfit was unable to do so. For these reasons, the ASA concluded that the relevant advertisements were misleading and contained claims that could not be substantiated.
