Advertisements by “In the Style” held to be misleading - 6 January 2021 - Fashion Law

Two complaints were raised in relation to sales offers advertised by In the Style on its website and Instagram page on the basis that they wrongly implied that discounts were site wide and applied to all products when they did not. The complaints were upheld by the ASA, which found that the prominent headlines “40% OFF ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING” and “HUGE SUMMER SALE EVERYTHING £10 AND UNDER” were misleading. Some clarificatory text regarding the offers was included in both advertisements but the ASA found the qualifications to be insufficient.
