SUPERDRY ISSUES WRITS TO ‘COPYCAT’ DESIGNERS
Supergroup, the parent company of clothing retailer Superdry, has issued a series of writs against rivals it alleges have copied its designs. Three writs have been issued in as many weeks by subsidiaries of Supergroup, which listed on the stock market last week, bringing the number to eight since Christmas. Stephen Sidkin, a partner at the law firm Fox Williams representing Supergroup, said copyright infringement has been a continuing trend since the start of the recession as companies look to save money on designing.
