A banner advertisement on Under Armour’s website claimed that “Athlete Recovery Sleepwear helps you recover faster”.

The ASA concluded, following a review of a number of studies and a body of evidence provided by Under Armour, that that the claim that the clothing could aid in muscle repair after exercise was unsubstantiated and misleading.

It was ruled that the ad must not appear again in its current form and Under Armour UK Ltd were told that future ads should not claim that Athlete Recovery Sleepwear containing Celliant could speed up muscle recovery after exercise.
